Proprietà:

Il principale costituente di questo sciroppo è il Balsamo del Tolù ottenuto dalla Miroxylon Toluiferum, pianta originaria del centro e sud America, già conosciuta dagli indigeni che ne facevano usi diversi. Grazie al suo contenuto di olio essenziale, resine e triterpeni, è a noi noto soprattutto per l’azione balsamica, sedativa della tosse, fluidificante del catarro bronchiale, germicida ed antibatterica a livello di apparato respiratorio. L’Elicriso ha anch’esso azione balsamica, espettorante e bechica oltre che antinfiammatoria, mentre sono conosciute le proprietà espettoranti ma soprattutto decongestionanti ed antinfiammatorie delle mucose da parte della Piantaggine. La Grindelia ha ha azione mucolitica ed antispastica sulla muscolatura liscia dei bronchi. Infine la Malva grazie alla presenza di sali minerali, vitamine A,B,C, potassio, calcio, ma soprattutto mucillagini risulta utilissima nelle problematiche del cavo orale, in quanto tali mucillagini vanno a creare una membrana protettiva intorno ai tessuti evitando quindi ulteriori infezioni batteriche, diminuendo il gonfiore delle tonsille, placando la tosse e quindi accellerando il processo di guarigione.
